Noticed that my rambling letter

was printed in the DI today. I should have left out the line about "imminent threat," as this is just semantics, but otherwise, I thought I got in a few good cheap shots.

They edited out my Al Sharpton line, BTW.

I wish I had spent more time on it (I wrote it in about three minutes), in retrospect, but I'm pleased nonetheless.

nice, Nate. We dominated the DI Opinion section today. I'll grab a regular copy of the paper at a newsstand here and send it down to you.

Nate, great letter - nice and sarcastic. But it really pisses me off that the DI put a correction or clarification after your letter, but never puts anything after letters that go after me.

Also, their contention that the White House labeled Saddam an imminent threat is also specious. If they want to cull two statements out of the eight-month buildup to war in which spokesmen inadvertently said "imminent" and use that as the basis for their argument, and then ignore the State of the Union address when Bush said we must act "before the threat becomes imminent," then that's just dishonest journalism. It's just bullshit, though; you have Elliot on that point, he just has liberal editors who will protect him.

Good job, again. I liked the baseball reference to Kerry - hysterical.
