Clarett, OSU, and the NCAA

Will the NCAA ever turn its focus to the Big 11?

UPDATE: It's really hitting the fan now. On its front page, ESPN.com is running this article, alleging that Jim Tressel has been paying players since his day's at Youngstown State.

UPDATE II: Here's the original ESPN The Magazine article that has caused the stir.

Funny that you say that. I've never considered Clarett a sympathetic figure at all -- until now (that is, after reading the original ESPN interview with him, not the other articles). I used to wonder why OSU put up with so much of his crap. Guess now I know.

I still don't think Clarett's a victim, and I still think he's a selfish punk -- but at the same time, I see his point about how he expected OSU to have his back, whereas they sold him out and essentially cost him millions.

My question is, how could OSU be so stupid? How could they leave this loose end out there, especially after the UGA basketball fiasco? When a dude knows where the bodies are buried, you better keep him happy.

Regardless, this is getting very entertaining.
