As if there were any doubt as to the legitimacy (or illegitimacy, as is the case) of the CBS Guard memos, General Staudt--the man who allegedly asked Killian to "sugarcoat" Bush's record--has given an interview to ABC in which he completely refutes the content of the memos. The guys at Power Line have more on this. I guess that doesn't do much for CBS & co.'s newest defense--that, even if the documents aren't original, the spirit of the memos is accurate and that's what we should be focused on.
